چکیده

IN THIS PA1 ER morphologic studies of the hone marrow in uiormal pregnancy and the puerperium are compared w’ith the bone marrow findings in normal nomi-pregnant women of childbearing age. These studies were initiated for the following reasons: 1. Previous studies have show-ui that there is an increase of the total circulating red cell volume and hemoglobin mass of about 20 % duiriuig pregnancy’m which is masked by the well-known physiologic hydreniia of pregnancy.46 2. Reports in the literature concerning the morphology of the boric marrow in normal pregnancy and the puerperium are in considerable conflict. 3. In the absence of an exact knowledge of the bone marrow findings in normal pregmiancy and the puerperium it is difficult to iuiterpret properly the bone marrow preparations iii megalohlastic amid other anemias of pregnancy amid the puerperium.
